Project & Community Benefits
The development aims to create direct and indirect economic benefits including:
- Solar energy will reduce our reliance on imported fossil fuels providing clean renewable energy and contribute to 2045 net zero targets.
- Enhanced biodiversity & wildlife habitat benefits would be built into the scheme.
- Business rates contribution would be paid to the Local Authority through the life of the project.
- Community fund to support local projects paid each year through the life of the solar farm.
- Local jobs during construction available for tender – local companies will be encouraged to apply.
- The potential for local jobs once the solar farm is operational.
